As a multidisciplinary maker and designer, my practice moves fluidly between textile design, costume, film, and interior. Trained in womenswear at Central Saint Martins in London and The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts & Design in Copenhagen, I've spent the past fifteen years building experience and a body of work that spans continents and creative disciplines. Originally from Denmark, I am currently based in Belgium, where I co-run the boutique and design studio Vanhille Grubert, I create bespoke textiles and objects, design costumes for performance and film, and accept commissions ranging from large-scale textiles to useful objects. My approach is rooted in natural materials, honoring traditional craft techniques while exploring contemporary applications. Alongside my design practice, I've taught fashion illustration at universities in China, London, and Copenhagen and served as academic leader of the international fashion department at Shanghai Institute of Visual Art, bringing the same philosophy to teaching as to my own work: connecting the handmade with the commercial and the experimental with the concrete.
